About
Jon studied Natural Sciences in Cambridge at Gonville and Caius College. After graduating, he continued in academia and is currently researching the use of multiscale modelling for pharmaceutical products. His work is funded by Pfizer, and he works with William Ketterhagen from Pfizer, and Dr. James Elliott in Cambridge.
Research
Multiscale modelling. Developing and using methods to calculate material properties ab initio. Methods include using quantum calculations, molecular dynamics and the discrete element method. The programs I use include GAUSSIAN, CHARMM, LAMMPS, DL_POLY, NAMD, VMD and LIGGGHTS. Currently I simulate pharmaceutical systems as molecules, as crystals and as powders.
